Summer 2012 Art Fun Classes Now Available

Yeah for summer Art Fun! Please take note of the different times, dates, and ages for each session. Email me if you have any questions (a contact form is at the bottom of this page).

- Tuition is $40 per student per session (except for session C which is $20) for Little Tikes classes ages 4-6 and $12 per student per session for Art Fun classes ages 7-12.

- Classes are held at my home off of Elliot between Recker and Higley in Gilbert.

- Feel free to register for as many or as few sessions as you would like.

- To register for a session, email me your name and phone number, your child's name and age, the session or sessions your artist would like to attend, and if you will be participating in the art show.

- Tuition is due on Monday, May 14th (or when you register, if it is after the 14th of May). Once you email me your registration, I will send you an invoice powered by PayPal (you don’t need to have a PayPal account). If you prefer not to use PayPal, please contact me so that we can make other arrangements. Also, the week of May 14th, I will send you an email with my address and details about my classes.

-If a session you are interested in is full, please still let me know that you would like to attend. I will probably offer additional classes for the most popular sessions. Also, if there is a class that you want, but it is on an inconvenient day, let me know that too and I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

Little Tikes Art Fun Classes

for artists 4-6 years

Mornings from 9:00-10:30 am OR 10:30 am-12:00 pm

Includes four 1 ½ hour classes, all supplies, and an art show. 

Each class consists of art time, story time, and a healthy snack.

Come explore the colorful life of a chameleon.

Session B – Cool Cats

 Come discover artists and illustrators who have used cats in their art.

We’ll learn about Henri Rousseau, Laurel Burch, and Dr. Seuss then create three different cool cat projects.

We’ll learn about Eric Carle, read about fireflies, and make a colorful painted paper firefly.

for artists 7-12 years

(children need to be comfortable using scissors)

Afternoons from 1:30-3:30 pm

Each session includes one 2 hour class, all supplies, and an art show.

Session 1 – Chameleons: watercolors and paper sculpture

 We’ll learn about these colorful creatures and then make two fun projects.

 Come play with lines and color in this fun class that 

encourages a lot of imagination.

Session 3 – Picasso Guitars: tempera paints and collage

Come learn about Pablo Picasso. We’ll look at some of his paintings of guitars then make some guitars of our own.

 We’ll learn about zebras then create some colorful and traditional paintings.

Session 5 – Jungle Cat: watercolors and colored pencil

Come learn about the artist Henri Rousseau. We’ll look at some of his jungle scenes with cats, then make a fun jungle cat project.

 We’ll create some cat silhouettes inspired by the amazing illustrations of Jan Pienkowski.

Session 7 – Creative Cats: tempera paints

Come be inspired by the beautiful artwork of Laurel Burch.

We’ll look at her elaborate cats then make some of our own.

Session 8 – Space Fantasy: painted paper collage

Come create a space scene that is out of this world.

Session 9 – Fireflies: tempera and watercolor paints

We’ll learn interesting facts about fireflies then make a fun landscape painting that lightning bugs are sure to enjoy.

Session 10 – Pretty Pastels: oil pastels and watercolors

Come explore the fun possibilities with oil pastels. We’ll use sea turtles and Vincent Van Gogh as inspiration for two fun projects.

Art Show

Saturday, June 30th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm

My kids love the art shows! It’s so fun to have your hard work displayed and admired. 

- Friends and family are welcome. 

- Art shows are a come and go event where each student gets to decorate an art folder, see their art displayed, and enjoy refreshments.

- If you are not able to attend the art show, please let me know so your artist can take their art home at the end of the session instead of at the show.
